Level 1 Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst

Responsibilities:

• 24×7 Monitoring & Alert Triage.
• Monitor security events and alerts via FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR dashboards.
• Perform initial triage: validate, classify, and prioritize incidents.
• Execute predefined playbooks in Fortinet SOAR for containment and remediation.
• Escalate escalated incidents to Level 2/3 teams with clear documentation.
• Correlate logs from firewalls, endpoints, and servers to identify patterns.
• Enrich alerts with threat-intel feeds and contextual data.
• Assist in the development and tuning of detection rules in FortiSIEM
• Contribute to SOAR automation scripts and workflows to reduce manual effort
• Maintain accurate incident reports, post-mortem summaries, and metrics dashboards
• Provide daily/weekly status updates to SOC lead and stakeholders

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years in a SOC or similar security operations role.
• Hands-on with Fortinet SIEM (FortiSIEM) and SOAR (FortiSOAR) platforms.
• Familiarity with firewall, IDS/IPS, endpoint, and network log analysis.
• Basic scripting or query skills (Python, SQL, or SOAR playbook scripting).
• Certifications (preferred): Fortinet NSE 4 or higher, CompTIA Security+ or equivalent.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work shift rotations, including nights and weekends.

Entry-Level SOC Analyst (Fresh Graduate Focus)

Key Responsibilities:

• 24×7 Alert Monitoring: Monitor security events generated by FortiSIEM and FortiSOAR, identifying potential threats and anomalies.
• Initial Triage & Classification: Validate and categorize alerts (true positives vs. false positives) using defined criteria and threat-intelligence data.
• Automated Playbook Execution: Trigger and observe SOAR playbooks for containment and remediation steps, escalating complex incidents to Level 2 analysts.
• Log Analysis & Correlation: Analyze firewall, endpoint, and network logs to uncover patterns of suspicious activity, leveraging FortiSIEM dashboards. 
• Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate incident records, including timelines and actions taken, and assist in preparing daily status summaries for the SOC lead.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related field.
• Technical Exposure: Academic or lab experience with SIEM/SOAR concepts; familiarity with Fortinet products (FortiSIEM/FortiSOAR) is a plus.
• Foundational Skills: Understanding of network fundamentals, TCP/IP, OSI model, and basic scripting (Python or similar) for simple automation tasks.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, clear communication, eagerness to learn, and ability to work shifts including nights and weekends.

Preferred:

• Internship or capstone project involving SIEM/SOAR tools.
• Basic knowledge of threat-intelligence feeds and the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
• Exposure to cloud log-management platforms (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor).
