• Private sector companies contribute 1% of their annual net profits to the Foundation.

🔍 Available Grants

1. Research Fellowship (Internship)

For bachelor’s or master’s degree holders looking to conduct research or gain experience in advanced research techniques at top-tier academic or research institutions.

2. Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

For PhD holders aiming to continue research in their field of specialization under expert supervision at globally recognized institutions.

✅ General Eligibility Criteria

• Kuwaiti nationality

• Age below 35 at the time of application

• Must have completed the most recent academic degree within the past 3 years

• Field of study must fall under science, technology, or innovation disciplines

• Fellowship must be directly related to the applicant’s academic specialization

• Proof of acceptance from a top 50 institution globally or by subject (THE, US News, or SCImago rankings)

📌 Specific Requirements

🔬 Postdoctoral Research

• Must hold a PhD degree

• GPA for bachelor’s:

  • Minimum 3.50/4.00 (all fields except medical)

  • Minimum 3.33/4.00 for medical fields

• Duration: 6 to 12 months

🧪 Research Fellowship (Internship)

• Must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree

• GPA for bachelor’s:

  • Minimum 3.67/4.00 (all fields except medical)

  • Minimum 3.33/4.00 for medical fields

• Duration: 3 to 6 months

💼 Terms & Conditions

• Must notify KFAS if receiving financial support from other sources

• Full-time commitment required (official leave from employer if employed)

• KFAS reserves the right to prioritize institutions with existing partnerships

💰 Financial Benefits

Fellowship Type	Monthly Stipend
Postdoctoral Research	1,500 KWD
Research Fellowship	1,200 KWD

• Round-trip economy airfare (up to 800 KWD)

• Health insurance coverage per Ministry of Higher Education policies (or travel insurance if unavailable)

• Publication Bonus: 500 KWD for research published in top 50% journals (Q1/Q2), submitted within 2 years of fellowship, with acknowledgment to KFAS

• Recent civil ID (via Kuwait Mobile ID app)

• Letter of acceptance indicating fellowship duration

• Certified copies of academic degrees and transcripts

• Statement of purpose (200+ words)

• Updated CV

• Certificate from Public Institution for Social Security (PIFSS):
