• In 2003, shift in location allowed for an increase in both the inpatient beds and the outpatient clinics and eventually boosted the capacity to serve a wider segment of the population.
• Dar Al Shifa Hospital is 230 bedded accredited facility constitutes of inpatient rooms (Imperial, Royal, Junior and Standard), labour rooms, neonatal units, Intensive Care Units, Operation Theatres, Emergency Room, Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory, Outpatient clinics and sub-specialized medical/surgical fields. Also, it has well-equipped ancillary services with the latest technologies.

• Over the last few years, DASH has proved itself as a trustworthy organization in which patient/family-centred care is provided through a competent and diverse team of health care professionals utilizing the latest technology and applying evidence-based practices. Another significant achievement of DASH is attaining recognized international accreditation and awards from Accreditation Canada and the American College of Radiology. Also has been the first in the country to attain of HIMSS 7 certification for inpatient and outpatient setting.

Specialist - Gastroenterology

Job Responsibilities:

• Diagnosis and treatment of patients referred to department and responsible to run his/her own clinic.
• Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under his/her care within the resources provided by the program.
• Responsible to investigates, diagnoses and treats medically and/or surgically all patients referred to him /her with conditions problems appropriate to his specialty and will determine the need for clinical investigations and physiological testing appropriate to making his diagnosis, and will undertake the management of the patient's condition, with appropriate follow up.
• The Consultant will undertake interventional procedures, as part of the patients' treatment and/or to reach a diagnosis, where appropriate, in line with his delineated clinical privileges.
• Provides supervision to the department registrar working in Emergency and inpatient Units if needed.
• Participates in teaching programs in the Department and its sections, regular seminars, promotes clinical investigative work.
• Ensures implementation of the Ministry of Health regulations, the Hospital Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations and the Department Policy and Guidelines.
• Performs all surgical procedures according to the clinical privileges granted to him/her.
• Provide supervision to the department registrars within the department.
• Responsible for directing, planning, managing, and coordinating operations for the patient care activities.
• Handles administrative and operational matters relating to the activities of the Division and consults with Head of the Department as required.
• Responsible to provide the highest quality of service to the patients under his/her care within the resources provided by the program.

Job-Specific/Technical Skills

• Good communication skills.
• Knowledge of Required Organizational practices/patient safety standards.
• Command over professional code of ethics, medical bylaws.
• Knowledge of evidence based Age specific/ Population specific patient care clinical guidelines accepted by the hospital.
• Culturally competent (Kuwaiti patients’ culture and beliefs).
• AHA certified Basic Life support provider

IT Technical Support Officer

Main Duties and Responsibilities/Performance Standards:

• Set up and configure desktop computers, Printers, IP Phones, IPTVs, QMS, peripherals, user accounts, Email Accounts and assigning security levels, network access, etc. Investigate hardware problems and perform minor system hardware and communication connection repairs. Performs basic diagnostic testing. Major problems or repairs are directed to outside vendors.
• Provide first-level support for computer software and Clinic technology equipment used.
• Respond to incoming calls requesting technical support assistance and take necessary steps to resolve issues in a timely manner.
• Working knowledge of help desk software, databases, and remote control
• Plan, install, control, and maintained computers, Printers, IP Phones, and IPOS within the hospital.
• Systematically document all requests for technical support assistance including end-user identification information, the nature of the problem, and steps taken to resolve issues.
• Perform regular maintenance of all system software and hardware as per maintenance schedule, etc. to ensure business continuity and minimize system interruptions.

• Develops and provides content for the hospital's internet website.
• Upgrades and maintains servers, hardware, software, telecommunication connections, e-mail, and security systems.
• Investigate system errors, perform backups, and ensure user accessibility and site performance.
• Ensures safety standards (occupational and patient safety) are complied.
• Ensures quality and patient safety practices are followed.
• Provides or promotes people-centered care.
• Promotes inclusive health by providing equitable and accessible care to patients and families with special needs.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned by the Direct Reporting Authority.

Qualifications, Competences and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science / Computer Technology.
• Experience: 2 to 3 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
